We have some new and exciting things coming up for ProArteDanza’s 2015 Season.
To begin, we will be working with international choreographer Mauro Astolfi. I first met Astolfi while I was still living in Rome and it has been a pleasure to watch his evolution into the renowned choreographer he is today through his company Spellbound Contemporary Dance. It has been 20 years since he and I last worked together and I am thrilled he will be working with our Company for the 2015 Fall Season performance at the Fleck Dance Theatre.
This season will be particularly special as it is the first year we will be presenting a program with entirely new creations. Along with Astolfi’s work, Robert and myself will be working on the latest installment, the 2nd movement, of our Beethoven’s 9th Symphony Project.
In the Spring, rather than continuing with our Short Stories presentation, we will be running a choreographic workshop that will end in an informal showing. We are proud to say that our loyal and talented company member, Ryan Lee, will be leading the choreographic workshop with the company in May. Ryan’s piece will be premiered in our Fall Season performance, the third of three brand new works being presented.
As we plan for this busy season, we are thrilled to gather together former company members as well as welcome new members to the team. I am so glad that we have the opportunity to continue building ProArteDanza with activities such as our Choreographic Workshop, and working with outside choreographer Mauro Astolfi. It is a rewarding feeling to know that we are constantly expanding.
I hope you are as excited as I am about what ProArteDanza has to offer in 2015!
